This Privacy Notice explains how Jovil collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the GraceLog / 恩记 app. Jovil is designed as a local gratitude journaling tool that helps users record daily moments of gratitude, review past entries, track moods, and receive reminders. We aim to keep your experience private and simple, with a strong emphasis on local storage and limited data collection.
Where any information is processed outside your device, this notice explains the purpose, scope, and safeguards that apply. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Notice.
Jovil is intended for users aged 17 and older. The app is not directed to children under 17, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn that information from a child under 17 has been provided, we will take reasonable steps to delete it as permitted by law.
Jovil does not perform facial recognition, facial analysis, biometric identification, or biometric profiling. We do not create, store, or retain face templates or other biometric identifiers. If an image is processed for any app feature, any transient processing data used for that feature is deleted after processing is completed.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide an in-app notice or other reasonable notification. Your continued use of Jovil after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Notice.
Information you provide: We collect gratitude journal entries, optional photos, category tags, mood selections, reminder preferences, and any custom tags you create. If you contact support, we also collect the information you choose to send in your message.
Information collected automatically: We may collect limited technical information such as crash logs, app performance data, device type, operating system version, and basic diagnostic information needed to keep the app stable.
Cookies and similar technologies: Jovil is primarily a mobile app and does not rely on web cookies in the traditional sense. If any embedded web content or related services are used in the future, only minimal cookies or similar technologies necessary for functionality or security may be used.
If Jovil uses AI-assisted features, all AI processing is performed exclusively on our own internal servers. We do not use any third-party AI services to process user data. User content sent for processing is handled only for the requested feature, and temporary processing data is deleted after completion.
We do not use user data to train, fine-tune, or optimize AI models, and we do not retain uploaded content for model training. Any AI-generated results may be shown in the app history if you save them, and you may delete them at any time.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access your information, correct inaccurate data, delete your data, export your data, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Because Jovil is designed to store data locally on your device, you can manage most of your information directly in the app, including editing or deleting entries and removing photos or custom tags. If you need help exercising any privacy right, you may contact us at godrtgel@icloud.com.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures may include device-level storage protection, access restrictions, transport security for any network communications, and operational controls for systems that process support or infrastructure data.
No security method is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, we work to reduce risk and limit data exposure wherever possible.
We use information only for legitimate app-related purposes, such as enabling gratitude journaling, saving your entries, displaying history and statistics, sending reminders you request, and maintaining app functionality. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or data sales.
We do not use your information for AI training, model optimization, or unrelated secondary uses. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade user data. We do NOT share any user-uploaded or user-generated content with any third party. We do NOT use any third-party AI services to process user data. All AI processing is performed exclusively on our own internal servers.
We may use a limited number of third-party service providers only for cloud storage, server hosting, or basic infrastructure operations, and only where such services are acting solely on our behalf and under our instructions. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect data security and are not permitted to use user data for any purpose beyond what we instruct.
Third parties are not allowed to use data for advertising, user profiling, AI training, model optimization, their own purposes, redistribution, or independent access to user content.
Depending on where you are located and where our service providers operate, information may be processed in different regions or countries. When cross-border transfers occur, we use appropriate safeguards intended to protect the information in accordance with applicable law and this Privacy Notice.
By using the app, you understand that certain technical or support-related data may be handled in jurisdictions different from your own, subject to the protections described here.
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice or as required by law.
Uploaded content: Any uploaded content used for a processing task is deleted after processing is completed, unless you intentionally save the result or the content as part of your journal history.
Generated results: Results that you choose to save may remain in your app history until you delete them.
Crash logs: Crash logs may be retained for up to 12 months.
Support messages: Support messages may be retained for up to 6 months.
Temporary processing data: Temporary processing data is deleted after completion of the relevant task.
You may delete your stored entries and other locally saved content at any time through the app or by removing the app from your device, subject to your device’s storage behavior and backup settings.
By downloading, accessing, or using Jovil, you agree to the collection, use, and handling of information described in this Privacy Notice. If you do not agree with this Privacy Notice, you should not use the app.
Your continued use of Jovil after any update to this Privacy Notice indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
